This is an old kitchen cabinet transformed into shoes storage for the hallway. The hand-drawn Paris theme is inspired by the customer’s favorite travel destination. They wanted a custom-made piece that would fit in their grey and yellow hallway and their playful personality.
I grew up watching my grandmother crocheting these amazing doilies. She would spend many hours working at them when she was not working as a seamstress. I used to help her make the edges or prepare the thread and I was convinced her hands were magic. I have these three doilies from her and wanted to put them somewhere in the house as a constant reminder of her. I came up with the idea of a dream-catcher that now hangs in my bedroom and is the first and last thing I see in a day. Perfect place.
It’s always tea time…
This tray is inspired by my madness for "Alice in Wonderland" with a hint of Mackenzie Childs. It was an old lap tray with broken legs, so I changed those with more sturdy ones after which I went free style with paint. I can only say that each cup of tea is now a party. ;)
This dresser doubles as cover for some ugly pipes from floor heating that go about 50 cm up the wall. For this project I have re-purposed an old dresser, cut out the back to accommodate the pipes and shortened two of the drawers. I then painted it bright yellow to make it a feature in this black and white hallway.
